Clouds and Komodo dragons

The sky is a palette of colours that changes with the passage of time, while the clouds draw figures that appear and disappear in a heartbeat.

These are games of the mind, the fruit of imagination that flies far and wide.

You can’t see the wind, but you can feel it.

You can hear its murmur, smell its perfume, experience its strength.

Curious brush strokes can be seen on the surface of the water, drawn by the strong currents.

The boat slips across the liquid surface, driven by most ancient forces.

The sun’s rays filter through the enormous white masses and light up the island.

Komodo appears: the kingdom of the Komodo dragons, prehistoric animals that take us on a journey back in time.

This land is their home.

Today, just like in ancient eras, enormous lizards wander lazily through the forest as if no time has passed.

The islands all around are monuments rising between sea and sky.

Clouds, islands, dragons and our imagination – they all fly away with the gusts of wind.

“The sky is a palette of colours that changes with the passage of time, while the clouds draw figures that appear and disappear in a heartbeat.”

Backstage

The Komodo archipelago is a world unto itself, with multitudes of islands, each different from the next one, yet so close that they seem to touch, and with skies and clouds that change colour and shape with each blink of the eye. It is a constantly changing landscape. And then, there is the island of the same name, the only home of the prehistoric dragons. I was able to experience such a wide variety of emotions while trying to tell their story in photographs.
