Adventure Photographer
Alex Buisse is an adventure photographer based in Chamonix, France. He has spent the past decade documenting extreme sports in the Alps, Patagonia, the Himalayas and Yosemite, often climbing, skiing and paragliding himself.
Among his favourite adventures have been sailing around Cape Horn, skiing to the North Pole, attempting to climb K2, soloing a big wall and making the first ascent of four mountains in eastern Greenland.
When we ask him why he loves nature he answers:
“One of the reasons I love adventure is because it simplifies everything: nobody is worried about doing their taxes or answering emails when skiing in deep powder or flying from the summit of a mountain. I love the wilderness and feeling connected to it, something that has mostly been lost in our daily lives. Finally, I love going into the unknown, with no idea of whether success will be achieved or not (it often isn’t) but having to constantly think, assess and adapt to the environment. It reminds me that nature is much, much bigger and stronger than any of us.”
